Having used similarly rich colours in my paintings in the past, they have always been recognisable as mine. A collection of random subjects and styles could be exhibited together and work, even though technically they should not.
I stumbled across Payne’s Grey quite by chance, after painting a graveyard. Rummaging through some paint I’d been given I almost dismissed it as unsuitable for anything much.
The moment the brush hit the canvas I fell in love. We have been inseparable ever since. I’m fascinated by its depth and dimensions as a ‘colour’ and do not feel the need to use anything else, except sometimes turquoise. I honestly wonder if I’ll ever be able to use full blown colours again.
I am excited about exhibiting them all together, and I hope you enjoy them
